Keepers are essentially protectors, maintainers or ameen – what spouses are for each other. Ameen of the other’s honor, well being and property. Conventionally, the term “keeper” is used for someone who is worth having a lasting relationship with. It can also be interpreted as someone who not only maintains the other, but also helps them grow in deen and dunya! This is the reason Islam gives huge importance to the institution of marriage to save us from social evils and encourages muslims to facilitate each other in finding suitable partners.
